Best Movie of the Year... by far.

It doesn't matter how many journeys I have made in my life, I always get the "butterflies" before setting off ! The expectation/excitement, mixed with a whole combination of using public transport/having to communicate with new people stimulates me as I never know what to expect but can't help putting Plan A and Plan B in place!
I never stop believing... everything will be alright.

Misty Mountain Hop

So I'm packing my bags for the Misty Mountains where the spirits go now, over the hills where the spirits fly. I really don't know.

Took a mountain bike ride out into the misty covered hills this morning.

Streets of Love

Running for Medals...

I hope to get another medal in September 2009 to add to the one I got in 2006 (pictured) when I participated in the 25th running of 'The Great Scottish Run' in Glasgow.
This year though, I am building up to take part rather than just 'going for it' !
So, the training begins now with exercise and weight loss programme. Sugar has always been my downfall, I will be taking steps to address this. Roll on the 9th September !

Kissing the Blarney Stone.

I will be visiting Cork, Ireland in September this year, having just watched this video (above) on youtube I am intrigued to discover wether the Irish really do walk backwards at the Traffic Lights.

"It was You"

1939 - 2009

Classic Car get-together from 1939. These enthusiasts were holding a 1939 reunion of vehicles from that era. It wasn't an 'official' event as that would have to have included Insurance/Police presence etc. ~ this was organised using modern technology, all communication was done via the internet. A true reflection of mixing the old with the new !
I just happened to be passing, so I took a few photos/had a chat in my usual 'Bruce Almighty' intrepid reporter "what are you guys doin' ?" style.
And that's the way the Cookie crumbles.

Down your Street...

A typical street-scene in Stockport, Cheshire.

Ramble On...

Leaves are fallin' all around, time I was on my way

Thanks to you, I'm much obliged for such a pleasant stay

but now it's time for me to go,

the autumn moon lights my way

for now I smell the rain, and with it, pain

and it's headed my way

Aw, sometimes I grow so tired

but I know I've got one thing I got to do

A-ramble on, and now's the time, the time is now

Sing my song, I'm goin' 'round the world,

I gotta find my girlOn my way,

I've been this way ten years to the day

Ramble on, gotta find the queen of all my dreams

Got no time to for spreadin' roots, the time has come to be gone

And though our health we drank a thousand times

it's time to ramble on

A-ramble on, and now's the time,

the time is nowSing my song,

I'm goin' 'round the world

I've gotta find my girl

On my way, I've been this way ten years to the day

I gotta ramble on, I gotta find the queen of all my dreams

I tell you no lie

Mine's a tale that can't be told, my freedom I hold dear

How years ago in days of old when magic filled the air

'twas in the darkest depths of Mordor,

mm-I met a girl so fair

but Gollum and the evil warg crept up and slipped away with her

her, her, yeah, and ain't nothin' I can do, no

I guess I'll keep on ramblin', I'm gonna

Sing my song/Sh-yeah-yeah-yeah-yeah,

I've gotta find my baby

I'm gonna ramble on, sing my song

Gonna work my way all around the world

Baby, baby/Ramble on, yeah

A-do-do-n-do-n-do-n-do, my baby/Baby

A-ramble on, babyA-do-do-do-do-do-do-

do-de-do-de-do-de-do-de-do-de, yeah,

yeah/I can't stop this feelin' in my heart

Everytime I feel I will leave, I really gotta part

Gotta keep searchin' for my baby/

Baby, baby, baby, baby, baby, baby, baby,

baby, babeI've gotta keep a-searchin'for my baby

My, my, my, my, my, my, my baby/

Yeah-yeah, a-yeah-yeah, a-yeah-yeah

My, my, my, my, my, my baby/

Yeah-yeah, yeah-yeah, yeah-yeah,

yeah-yeah, yeah-yeahOoh, my,

my, my-my, my-my, my-my, yeah/

I can't find my bluebird,

I'd listen to my bluebird sing

but I, I can't find my bluebird

I keep a-ramblin' baby/

Ah, ah, yeahI keep a-ramblin', baby/

I keep, keep, keep, keep, keep

Babe, babe, babe, babe/

I keep a-ramblin', baby,

baby, baby, baby, baby, baby, baby

My, my babeBay-ya-by/

A-goodbye, goodbye, a-goodbye, baby

Well, something's wrong

Look through any window...

Message from the Ambulance Service

We all carry our mobile phones with names & numbers stored in its memory. If we were to be involved in an accident or were taken ill, the people attending us would have our mobile phone but wouldn't know who to call. Yes, there are hundreds of numbers stored but which one is the contact person in case of an emergency? Hence this 'ICE' (In Case of Emergency) Campaign.
The concept of 'ICE' is catching on quickly. It is a method of contact during emergency situations. As mobile phones are carried by the majority of the population, all you need to do is store the number of a contact person or persons who should be contacted during emergency under the name 'ICE' ( In Case Of Emergency). The idea was thought up by a
paramedic who found that when he went to the scenes of accidents there were always mobile phones with patients but they didn't know which number to call.
He therefore thought that it would be a good idea if there was a nationally recognised name for this purpose.
In an emergency situation, Emergency Service personnel and hospital staff would be able to quickly contact the right person by simply dialing the number you have stored as 'ICE'. Please forward this.
It won't take too many 'forwards' before everybody will know about this. It really could save your life, or put a loved one's mind at rest.
For more than one contact name simply enter ICE1, ICE2 and ICE3 etc
